Perspective Matters

FORM
ACTIVITY
MEANING
PLACE
In an exploration of the letterform, this project digitized condensed woodblock typeface and created a vinyl instillation utilizing this type. I further stretched each letter to be 6 feet in height, to be placed in the long hallway outside of the graduate studio, playing with perspective. The phrase perspective matters reads differently as you move through the hallway. Up close the letterforms almost create a small room within the hallway.
This project explores form and how it can change the meaning of space and place. The scale of this project also plays with creating place through intervention of a small scale change in the physical space in a 6 foot long section of the hallway.
